Intended for the education of students of Architecture & Spatial Planning and Mining & Process Engineering, the design revolves around the ideas of educational and social spaces, creating various levels of internal and external, public and private teaching, learning and social interactive spaces. A great deal of consideration was put into its response toward its context and the campus as a whole by encapsulating and strengthening the pedestrian street and seamlessly merging into the fabric of its urban environment. The use of exposed, low maintenance materials and services create a building that is more sustainable during its entire lifespan, and also enhances its ability to educate students by expressing how it was made.
